Find JobsAt MedicsPro, we provide a diverse selection of locum and permanent positions in Paediatric Ultrasound. If you're a qualified sonographer seeking new career opportunities, we invite you to explore our available vacancies.
At MedicsPro, our experienced team of professional recruiters ensures that we match qualified sonographers with locum and permanent roles worldwide.
We Offer:
A paediatric ultrasound utilizes sound waves to create images of the internal organs and soft tissues, which can be viewed live on a computer screen. These echoes are inaudible to the human ear, so a special device called a transducer is employed.
The ultrasound machine resembles a large mobile computer. The transducer is connected to the machine, and the images are displayed continuously on the computer screen. While observing these live images, the Sonographer will capture a series of "static" or still images to send to the radiologist for interpretation.
Preparation varies depending on your child's age and the area being examined. Please follow these specific instructions:
Your child should refrain from eating or drinking before the exam. The fasting duration is based on your child’s age as follows:
No food restrictions apply before this exam; however, your child must have a full bladder for the procedure. Encourage your child to drink as follows:
For children aged 2 weeks to 6 months (this does not apply to follow-up hip studies):
No special preparations are necessary for the following exams:
Dress your child in comfortable clothing that can be easily removed. They may be provided with a gown for the procedure.
Your child will lie down during the ultrasound, so consider bringing a stuffed animal or special blanket for comfort.
Note: Parents can accompany their child into the exam room. It may be helpful to arrange for siblings to be elsewhere during this time. If you have prior imaging studies of your child from another facility, please bring those for comparison.
Most ultrasound exams last about 30 minutes.
The images sent to the radiologist consist of selected "static" images. After reviewing these, the radiologist may wish to perform a brief ultrasound themselves to observe the area in real-time.
This is the perfect time to work, with a strong demand for skilled professionals. By choosing MedicsPro, you'll have access to a wide range of opportunities and competitive pay rates.
