Find JobsAt MedicsPro, we provide a diverse selection of locum and permanent positions in gynaecology ultrasound. If you're a qualified sonographer seeking new career opportunities, we invite you to explore our available vacancies.
At MedicsPro, our experienced team of professional recruiters ensures that we match qualified sonographers with locum and permanent roles worldwide.
We Offer:
A gynaecological ultrasound is commonly used to assess conditions affecting the female pelvic organs, including the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.
Your healthcare provider will refer you for a gynaecological ultrasound if it is necessary. This type of ultrasound is often utilised to evaluate conditions impacting the organs in a woman’s pelvis. Additionally, some of our hospitals provide Hysterosalpingogram Contrast Sonography (HyCoSy) and alternative ovarian screening methods.
If you are having your pelvis scanned, you should arrive at the appointment with a full bladder. This helps provide a clearer view of the pelvic organs. A restroom will be available for you to empty your bladder right after the scan. Please make sure to carefully review any preparation instructions provided before your appointment.
A gynaecologist will operate the ultrasound machine, which can perform either of two types of scans based on the area being examined:
The sound waves reflect off the internal organs and return through the probe to a computer, which converts these waves into detailed real-time images displayed on a monitor.
An ultrasound is generally painless; however, some slight discomfort may occur depending on the type of scan. A consultant radiologist will perform the procedure, assisted by a healthcare assistant who will be present to support you.
This is the perfect time to work, with a strong demand for skilled professionals. By choosing MedicsPro, you'll have access to a wide range of opportunities and competitive pay rates.
Key Benefits:
The appointment typically lasts about 20 minutes, although this duration may vary based on the specific type of scan performed.
Ultrasound scans are safe, with no known harmful side effects. They are commonly used during pregnancy.
Your results will be reviewed by a radiologist and sent to the healthcare professional who referred you within a week of your appointment. Timing may vary for specialised examinations, so it's advisable to confirm with the hospital team before leaving. Your referring provider may suggest a follow-up appointment to discuss your results.
