There are two primary routes to becoming a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer:
Other routes may be available for graduates in related disciplines, such as obtaining a postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine linked to in-service training.
Clinical Technologists can voluntarily register with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine’s Voluntary Register. In the future, Nuclear Medicine Radiographers will be required to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) upon completion of an approved degree.
Radiographers are registered with the HCPC upon completing their BSc in Radiography.
Most Nuclear Medicine Radiographers work in NHS hospitals, although opportunities also exist in the private sector.
